It can often be a struggle to wake up in the morning especially on the mornings when you have to drag yourself out of bed to go to work. But hopefully we can stop you reaching for the snooze button, because here we shall look at how to wake up rested.
Get to bed early, although you might not be able to get to sleep as soon as your head hits the pillow, getting into bed helps the body and the mind to relax. This means if you do happen to get to sleep earlier than you intended, you will most likely wake up much earlier or even better, wake up before the dreaded alarm clock.
Clear your sleep space, before going to bed try to keep your entire bedroom tidy, this helps to avoid any distractions whilst you are trying to sleep. Be sure to leave the duvet pulled back as well, as this will allow your mattress to air out and breathe.
Plan your days, when you get to bed many things can race through your head so why not try planning out your next day to keep your mind at ease, before you get to bed of course. This will help you to relax when it comes to bed time without having to worry about everything you have to do the next day.
Set a wind down routine, try to get into a habit of winding down with some of your most loved things. Try having a long bath or doing some light reading for example. Try to get into a wind down routine before bed every day.
